Senior Engineering Manager – Agile Teams

About the role

KAYAK, a leading travel search engine, is expanding its corporate travel platform, KAYAK for Business. As a Senior Engineering Manager you will lead one or more agile engineering teams that deliver high‑quality software enabling companies and their travelers to move smarter with less friction.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end delivery for agile teams, ensuring high‑quality releases aligned with product and business goals.
• Define and drive the technical roadmap in partnership with product managers and engineering peers.
• Establish and enforce engineering best practices, including coding standards, testing, observability, and clear Definition of Done.
• Lead hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and career development for software engineers.
• Coach engineers at all levels through regular 1:1s, feedback, and career conversations.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to plan and deliver complex, multi‑team initiatives.
• Proactively identify and mitigate delivery risks, improving processes and velocity.
• Champion a culture of quality, continuous improvement, blameless post‑mortems, and incident response.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading agile engineering teams and delivering software at scale.
• Strong track record in hiring, performance management, and developing engineering talent.
• Ability to work closely with product, design, and other engineering leaders on multi‑team projects.
• Experience identifying and removing technical, organizational, or process risks.
• Commitment to fostering a quality‑first, continuous‑improvement mindset.
