Data & AI Governance Consultant

About the role

EPAM is seeking a Data & AI Governance Consultant to join its Global Data & Analytics Consulting practice in Lithuania. The role is hybrid, allowing remote work from anywhere in the country while providing opportunities to collaborate in the Vilnius and Kaunas offices. You will partner with senior executives to shape data and AI strategies, build governance operating models, and ensure compliance with emerging AI regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead enterprise‑wide Data & AI governance discussions and advise C‑level stakeholders (CDO, CIO, CDAO, Risk Officers).
• Define and implement AI governance frameworks aligned with regulatory and business requirements.
• Conduct data management and governance maturity assessments and create roadmaps.
• Design federated governance operating models, including councils, stewardship networks, and RACI structures.
• Advise on GenAI risk mitigation, including data leakage, IP exposure, hallucination risk, and compliant use of large language models.
• Support regulatory readiness, audit preparation, and evidence documentation for the EU AI Act and industry‑specific regulations.
• Deliver end‑to‑end consulting services from strategy ideation to enterprise rollout.
• Facilitate data and AI literacy programs, change‑management initiatives, and client workshops.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology or a related field.
• 6+ years of consulting experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or AI Governance.
• Subject‑matter expertise in at least two of the following: Data & AI Governance, AI compliance, Data Quality, Metadata Management, Data Cataloging, Lineage, Master Data Management.

Required skills

• Knowledge of DCAM framework and Responsible AI principles.
• Experience with data governance and AI governance methodologies.
• Familiarity with metadata management, data cataloging, and master data management concepts.
• Understanding of AI/ML lifecycle risks such as model drift, bias, and GenAI‑specific risks.
