About the role

We are a tech‑driven media and entertainment company behind boredpanda.com and the Crafty Panda DIY channel. As Lead Writer for the Fire Spike series, you will guide a small team of writers and shape the creative direction of a fast‑turnaround, digital‑first animated show for a global preschool and children’s audience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a small team of scriptwriters, helping them develop stronger ideas, outlines, and scripts.
• Take a hands‑on role in rewriting and fixing scripts when additional support is required.
• Translate the show’s character and world guidelines into a consistent, visual‑first writing voice.
• Analyze existing episodes, scripts, and audience‑performance insights to identify improvement opportunities.
• Participate in discussions about the show’s creative direction and broader content strategy.
• Introduce and implement workflow improvements to increase consistency and efficiency.
• Keep the writing pipeline on schedule, prioritize scripts, and flag creative or production risks early.
• Support a digital‑first release cadence of approximately 6–8 episodes per month.

Required profile

• Produced writing credits on at least one preschool (ages 2–6) or children’s (ages 6–11) animated series.
• Experience with digital‑first or fast‑turnaround formats is a strong advantage.
• Previous experience leading, mentoring, or providing editorial direction to other writers.
• Strong story‑editing skills with the ability to diagnose script issues and guide writers toward practical solutions.
• Confidence working directly on scripts, including restructuring stories, rewriting scenes, and improving pacing or clarity.
• A visual‑first approach to writing, thinking in terms of action, staging, and character reactions.
• Clear understanding of character‑driven storytelling and consistency maintenance.
