Senior Consultant – Financial Services Risk Management

About the role

Join EY's Financial Services Risk Management team as a Senior Consultant, working on projects for leading banks across the Baltics, Nordics, Central Europe and Central Asia. The role combines direct communication with top‑level bank management, hands‑on development of analytical solutions and extensive data‑driven problem solving.

Key responsibilities

• Assist banks and financial institutions in analysing and managing financial risks such as credit risk and capital adequacy.
• Develop, document, implement and validate analytical tools and models for risk‑based decision making and regulatory reporting.
• Apply statistical, economic, financial and mathematical techniques to solve business and risk‑management problems.
• Perform reactive and proactive data analysis on large data sets using SQL, R or Python.
• Present analytical results to internal and external stakeholders and recommend high‑quality solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in the banking sector, specifically in financial risk management (credit risk, capital adequacy, etc.).
• Academic background in finance, business, physics, mathematics, statistics or IT.
• Fluent English; German or Russian language skills are a plus.
• Previous experience in a Big 4 environment is advantageous.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• SQL, Python or R (at least one).
• Power BI (advantageous).
