Cybersecurity Engineer

About the role

Moody's is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to design, implement, and maintain security data platforms that enable the company to detect and respond to risk across its global operations. The role focuses on Splunk Cloud and Cribl solutions, leveraging automation and AI to improve data collection, transformation, and analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the subject‑matter expert for security data platforms, ensuring reliable and scalable data pipelines.
• Administer, configure, and optimize Splunk Cloud environments, including indexes, data models, field extractions, permissions, and licensing.
• Implement and manage data ingestion, transformation, routing, and reduction using Cribl Stream and Cribl Cloud.
• Develop automation, integrations, and operational tooling with Python and/or JavaScript.
• Support cloud‑hosted environments, primarily on Amazon Web Services.
• Troubleshoot complex distributed data pipelines and resolve performance issues.
• Apply AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency while adhering to responsible AI practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field.
• 2‑4 years of hands‑on experience in cybersecurity engineering, data engineering or platform administration.
• Relevant Splunk certifications (e.g., Splunk Administrator or Architect) are preferred.

Required skills

• Splunk Cloud administration and optimization.
• Cribl Stream and Cribl Cloud for data ingestion and routing.
• Log parsing, normalization, and Common Information Model mapping.
• Python and/or JavaScript programming.
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environment.
• Artificial intelligence tools for workflow automation.
