Head of Data

About the role

At Saily we are simplifying mobile connectivity for travelers worldwide. We are looking for a Head of Data to own the entire data vertical – from ingestion to modeling to decision‑making. This hands‑on leadership role will inherit a team of Data Analysts while shaping the technical direction and architecture of our data ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Own the Data function across analytics, modeling, and pipelines.
• Lead the Data Analytics team, setting priorities, direction and standards.
• Design and maintain end‑to‑end data architecture, from raw pipelines to clean analytical models.
• Define data schemas, semantic layers, metrics, entities and relationships.
• Make data easy to understand and use for both people and AI.
• Own and evolve analytics infrastructure and tooling.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing and other teams to translate needs into a clear data strategy.
• Act as the main point of contact for data across the company, ensuring consistency.
• Set standards for data quality, documentation, governance and reliability.
• Build and shape the Data team as the company scales.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, data analytics or similar, with 4+ years in a leadership role.
• Strong hands‑on background in data modeling and schema design, including dimensional modeling and semantic layers.
• Solid understanding of data pipelines and modern data architecture.
• Excellent SQL skills and experience with modern analytical data stacks.
• Proven experience owning a data or analytics function or major part of one.
• Experience leading Data Analysts or Analytics Engineers, setting priorities and developing talent.
• Strong stakeholder management and confidence working directly with product, engineering, marketing and business leadership.
• Product and business thinking with an entrepreneurial mindset.
