IT Operations Manager

About the role

Heston Airlines is seeking an experienced IT Operations Manager to lead and coordinate daily IT activities, ensuring reliable service delivery across the airline. You will work closely with the Head of IT to align operational tasks with business objectives and drive continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate day‑to‑day IT operations, ensuring reliable service delivery.
• Manage the IT Support function, handling incidents, service requests and end‑user issues within agreed SLAs.
• Administer Microsoft 365 services (Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint) and oversee endpoint management with Intune and Jamf.
• Oversee identity and access management, including provisioning, MFA, Conditional Access and SSO.
• Monitor system health, performance and availability, performing root‑cause analysis for complex incidents.
• Plan and implement updates, infrastructure improvements, software deployments and operational changes in coordination with the Head of IT.
• Maintain backup, recovery and business continuity measures and validate their effectiveness.
• Identify automation opportunities and drive continuous improvement of IT operations and support processes.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures and system records.
• Support the Head of IT on projects, security improvements and digital transformation initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in IT operations, system administration or infrastructure, with 1–2 years of team leadership.
• Proven experience managing incident, request, change and problem management processes.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft 365 administration (Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint).
• Experience with endpoint management solutions such as Microsoft Intune and/or Jamf.
• Good understanding of identity and access management concepts (MFA, Conditional Access, SSO).
• Solid knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, cloud environments).
• Experience supporting backup, recovery, monitoring and business continuity.
• Fluent English, strong communication and organizational skills.
