Staff CloudOps Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

As a Staff CloudOps Infrastructure Engineer you will lead the strategic migration of the company’s cloud environment from Azure and AWS to Google Cloud Platform, shaping the design and implementation of a secure, scalable GCP infrastructure. You will work closely with engineering teams, mentor colleagues and drive best‑practice CloudOps across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver scalable, secure and reliable cloud and platform architectures with a strong focus on networking.
• Establish and maintain cloud security and compliance standards aligned with ISO 27001 and SOC 2.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Lead architecture reviews to ensure solutions meet scalability, security and business objectives.
• Support production reliability, including participation in an on‑call rotation.
• Manage third‑party platforms throughout their lifecycle for performance, security and cost efficiency.
• Define and evolve the strategy for the company’s IaaS platform, emphasizing networking.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve the Developer Experience and platform integration.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in cloud and platform infrastructure engineering, especially cloud networking and resilient architectures.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, compliance frameworks and cost optimisation.
• Proficiency in Linux, Infrastructure as Code, automation, GitOps and CI/CD practices.
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes networking, RBAC, disaster recovery and production performance optimisation.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities with excellent communication skills.
