Staff / Senior Staff Security Engineer – Payments

About the role

As a Staff / Senior Staff Security Engineer for Vinted Pay, you will lead the security posture of a fast‑growing fintech payments business. You will work closely with the Payments Engineering leadership team to embed security into the core financial architecture and ensure compliance with European regulators.

Key responsibilities

• Own the Vinted Pay security roadmap, assess the estate and drive risk remediation.
• Translate PCI DSS, DORA and regulator requirements into automated security controls and engineering guardrails.
• Conduct deep technical reviews of AWS infrastructure, payment pipelines, SIEM and vulnerability tooling and implement fixes.
• Lead cross‑functional security initiatives across Payments Platform and represent Vinted Pay in security governance.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on security engineering experience building large production systems, preferably in regulated payments.
• Track record at staff‑ or principal‑level delivering company‑wide technical initiatives.
• Ability to influence without authority and communicate technical risk to senior stakeholders.

Required skills

• Ruby on Rails, Go, MySQL, Temporal
• AWS security (IAM, KMS, multi‑account and multi‑region architecture)
• SIEM and CSPM tooling (e.g., Wiz)
• Observability tools such as Kibana, Grafana, Prometheus
