Accountant I

About the role

Cencora is seeking an Accountant I to handle a variety of accounting activities, including payment and receipt processing, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting. The role also involves supervising finance assistants according to company policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Record, classify, and summarize accounting transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
• Prepare and verify documents for computer input, posting debits and credits to the correct accounts.
• Maintain accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger functions using MYOB.
• Produce weekly and monthly management reports, cash balance reports, cash‑flow forecasts, and revenue estimates.
• Supervise monthly financial closing, prepare balance‑sheet schedules, and manage vendor listings.
• Respond to inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely filing, retrieval, and retention of financial records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, finance operations, transaction processing, reconciliations, or reporting support.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MYOB accounting software.
• Strong command of Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using Microsoft Word and Outlook.
