Air Freight Manager – Lithuania

About the role

Spedman Global Logistics is seeking an experienced, commercially‑driven Air Freight Manager to lead and expand its air freight operations across Lithuania and the wider Baltic region. You will combine hands‑on freight forwarding duties with proactive customer development and business growth initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Handle inbound and outbound air freight enquiries, prepare quotations, and manage shipments from booking to final delivery.
• Negotiate rates with airlines, secure cargo space, and optimise routing for cost, reliability and transit time.
• Coordinate pre‑ and on‑carriage activities, including trucking, warehousing and handling services.
• Prepare and verify all air freight documentation (AWB, commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, dangerous‑goods paperwork, customs forms).
• Ensure customs clearance, regulatory compliance and adherence to aviation security requirements.
• Monitor shipments, communicate status updates, and resolve exceptions with carriers, agents and customs brokers.
• Control costs, calculate margins, verify supplier invoices and manage customer billing.
• Arrange cargo insurance, support claims handling and advise customers on transport risks.
• Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective customers, identifying new market opportunities in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of experience in air freight forwarding, with solid knowledge of import/export operations.
• Strong understanding of the Lithuanian (and preferably Baltic) logistics market.
• Fluent in English and Lithuanian; additional Baltic languages are a plus.
• Commercially minded, sales‑oriented and able to turn market insights into profitable business.
• Self‑motivated, goal‑driven and capable of working independently while collaborating with international teams.
