Alterationist – Luxury Garment Specialist

About the role

Join a leading luxury retailer as an Alterationist, where you will ensure every garment fits perfectly for discerning clients. You will work closely with sales associates to deliver high‑quality alterations in a fast‑paced, fashion‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Measure clients and assess the scope of alteration work.
• Pin and mark garments according to fabric type to achieve the correct fit.
• Execute alterations to the highest technical standard and deliver completed pieces on or before the promised date.
• Communicate alteration charges using the current price list and confirm delivery dates with clients.
• Collaborate with sales associates to enhance client satisfaction and provide expert fit guidance.
• Maintain accurate alteration tags, follow the Holt Renfrew price list, and report supply or equipment needs to the department manager.
• Keep the department clean, adhere to health and safety policies, and comply with privacy and cybersecurity regulations.

Required profile

• Formal technical training in tailoring or seamstress work, or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 2 years of experience performing alterations, preferably on luxury fabrics.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English and/or French.

Required skills

• Garment measurement techniques.
• Fabric pinning and marking for precise fit.
• Alteration methods specific to luxury materials.
• Proficiency with standard alteration equipment.
