Automotive Projects Quality Manager – Telematics

About the role

We are building an automotive OEM supplier division and need an experienced Quality Manager to lead quality planning and execution for telematics and hardware projects. The role owns quality throughout the product lifecycle, from initial customer requirements through APQP phases, PPAP submission and serial production, ensuring compliance with automotive quality standards and customer‑specific requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the Quality Lead for assigned automotive OEM hardware and telematics development projects, from kickoff through PPAP approval and launch.
• Drive APQP execution across all five phases, providing evidence and documentation for each gate.
• Lead core automotive tools such as DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, PPAP and MSA in coordination with engineering.
• Represent quality in project gate and design reviews, delivering risk assessments and go/no‑go recommendations.
• Coordinate risk assessments, proactive defect‑prevention activities and validation strategies.
• Manage PPAP submissions, including customer‑specific requirements, and drive approvals to closure.
• Serve as the primary quality interface for customers during development and launch phases.
• Track and report project quality KPIs (open issues, PPAP status, audit findings) to leadership and customers.
• Lead problem‑solving using structured methodologies such as 8D and Root Cause Analysis.
• Support internal and external audits, ensuring documentation is audit‑ready and compliant with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001.
• Coordinate supplier quality activities, including supplier APQP and PPAP readiness for new components.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives across development, quality and launch processes.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in automotive quality, project quality or new product development.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Electronics, Automotive Engineering, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
• Hands‑on experience with APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans and risk‑management methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality management systems.
