Backend Engineer, PHP

About the role

Eneba is building a global digital gaming marketplace and new products such as Snakzy and AI game coaches. As a Backend Engineer you will join a cross‑functional team of designers, frontend, mobile and data engineers, supported by platform engineering, to deliver high‑scale services for millions of users.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with a 5‑10 person team to design, develop and ship backend features.
• Shape team processes and contribute to architectural decisions for a micro‑service ecosystem of 100+ services.
• Address challenges in scale, performance, reliability, trust and safety across distributed systems.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of components while ensuring code quality and operational excellence.

Required profile

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience with a strong focus on PHP and Symfony.
• Proven ability to solve problems quickly, take ownership and incorporate feedback.
• Familiarity with CQRS, circuit breaking, service orchestration and architectural discussions.
• Product‑mindset with a passion for delivering impact to end users.

Required skills

• PHP 8.5+ and Symfony 6/7/8.
• Golang, GraphQL, Temporal, Saga orchestration.
• Microservices architecture, custom PHPStan rules.
• MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, Prometheus, InfluxDB, ElasticSearch.
• Kubernetes, Helm, AWS, Terraform.
