Chief Accountant

About the role

Genome, a fully digital financial platform licensed by the Bank of Lithuania, is seeking a Chief Accountant to lead its accounting function. You will ensure compliance with IFRS, local regulations, and internal policies while supporting the company’s rapid growth.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain full accounting compliance with company policies, IFRS, and Bank of Lithuania reporting standards.
• Design, approve, and continuously improve accounting workflows to scale with business growth.
• Supervise daily financial operations, including administrative accounting, tax assessments, and timely tax filings.
• Participate in the “4‑eyes principle,” approving and creating systemic payment transactions within the Genome platform.
• Own regulatory reporting and audit management for Bank of Lithuania, staying ahead of legislative changes.
• Lead end‑to‑end preparation for external financial audits and drive internal control enhancements.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop a high‑performing finance team, fostering a culture of precision and accountability.

Required profile

• 5+ years of senior accounting experience, with at least 3 years in the Fintech/EMI sector.
• Deep hands‑on knowledge of IFRS and Bank of Lithuania reporting requirements.
• Higher education degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
• Fluent in Lithuanian and English.

Required skills

• Experience with modern ERP systems, preferably Dynamics 365 Business Central.
