C&I Automation Engineer – Renewable Energy Projects

About the role

Ignitis Renewables is looking for a C&I Automation Engineer to support the design, implementation, testing, commissioning and operational support of automation, control, communication and monitoring systems across wind, solar, battery storage and hybrid power projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead substation automation, control, communication and monitoring system implementation, ensuring grid compliance and renewable asset integration.
• Provide technical assistance during project development, construction, FAT, SAT and commissioning phases.
• Coordinate with contractors, OEMs, TSOs, DSOs and consultants, reviewing technical documentation and engineering deliverables.
• Support operations and maintenance by troubleshooting automation, communication and control issues and contributing to root‑cause analysis and performance optimisation.
• Maintain relationships with OEMs, EPC contractors and system integrators to guarantee delivery according to standards and cybersecurity requirements.

Required profile

• Solid knowledge and practical experience in electrical substation automation and renewable energy control systems.
• Familiarity with power plant control, SCADA, communication networks, grid compliance and OT cybersecurity.
• Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams, contractors and external stakeholders throughout project life‑cycle.
