Damage Estimator & Claims Specialist

About the role

HMD Trucking is looking for an experienced Claims & Damage Estimator to join its team in Telšiai. The role prepares accurate truck and trailer damage estimates from photographs and documentation, reviews estimates made by third-party repair facilities and adjusters, and helps handle trucking claims.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate damage estimates for trucks and trailers from photographs, accident reports and supporting documents
• Carry out desk reviews of third-party estimates to check labour, parts, repair procedures and costs
• Spot inaccurate, excessive or unnecessary charges and recommend adjustments
• Review accident photos to judge the extent of damage, and review estimates, supplements, invoices and claim documents
• Communicate with repair facilities, insurers, adjusters, vendors and internal departments
• Help with property damage and vehicle claims from first report to resolution

Required profile

• Previous professional experience preparing truck and trailer damage estimates
• Experience reviewing and negotiating third-party repair estimates
• Claims handling or insurance industry experience
• Ability to work independently and manage several claims at once

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of vehicle repair processes, labour, parts and damage assessment
• Ability to assess damage from photos and documents
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Estimating software such as Adjust Rite is a plus
