About the role

Amber Grid is seeking an Operations Engineer to support the reliable and safe operation of gas distribution stations within Lithuania's natural gas transmission system. The role involves technical maintenance, fault analysis, and coordination of projects that contribute to the development of green hydrogen infrastructure and biogas integration.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute technical maintenance of pressure vessels and related equipment at gas distribution stations.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair equipment failures.
• Prepare and maintain required technical documentation and manage procurement activities.
• Conduct pipe wall thickness measurements according to approved methodology.
• Organise annual inspections of facilities, territories and access roads, and produce defect reports.
• Participate in main pipeline cleaning, diagnostic device commissioning, and acceptance testing.
• Supervise contractor work, ensuring quality and compliance.
• Contribute to departmental initiatives, propose ideas and support their implementation.

Required profile

• Higher education in engineering, technology or physical sciences (or equivalent).
• Work experience in engineering, construction or energy sectors.
• Strong written and spoken Lithuanian and English.
• Analytical thinking with the ability to systematise and summarise information.
• Proactive, responsible and results‑oriented attitude.
• Valid driver’s licence (category B).

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
