Engineering Manager – Banking Technology

About the role

Architus is recruiting an Engineering Manager for Tide, a banking technology company that recently opened a branch in Lithuania with more than 45 engineers. The manager builds and runs the products owned by the team, from banking and payments to administration and operational tooling, and takes ownership of engineering practices and architecture in a rapidly expanding company.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and directly manage a cross-functional team, partnering with a Product Manager.
• Own the delivery of the team: quality, stability, timelines and dependencies.
• Drive tech excellence and architecture within the team's scope.
• Improve team performance as measured by DORA metrics and look after engineers' growth and wellbeing.
• Be hands-on, spending time on design, coding and coaching, and acting as the go-to person for advice on difficult problems.

Required profile

• Extensive experience building server-side applications and detailed knowledge of Java.
• Experience running microservices and using RESTful APIs, in a cloud-native environment.
• Experience integrating with third-party providers and partners.
• Experience leading teams and directly managing people.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and to work in an agile environment.

Required skills

• Java, Spring Boot and JOOQ for microservice APIs.
• Event-driven architecture with SNS+SQS and Kafka.
• PostgreSQL (RDS or Aurora) and Docker, Terraform, ArgoCD and EKS.
• CI/CD with GitHub, Semgrep and testing; Angular and Flutter.

• Gross monthly salary of EUR 7,400 to 11,560, depending on skills and experience.
