Engineering Manager

About the role

The purpose of the role is to lead and develop a team of Data Engineers and BI Developers, helping them deliver reliable, secure, and maintainable data and BI solutions. The Engineering Manager supports strong engineering practices, team collaboration, and continuous improvement while working closely with the Product Owner and architects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of Data Engineers and BI Developers, fostering collaboration, ownership, and a healthy team culture.
• Drive technical excellence in data engineering and BI, promoting scalable, reliable, secure, and maintainable solutions.
• Contribute to the technology roadmap and architecture discussions together with the Solution Architect, Product Owner, and engineering team.
• Partner with the Product Owner and architects to balance delivery goals with technical health, maintainability, reliability, and long‑term platform direction.
• Support engineering delivery by removing blockers, managing technical dependencies and risks, and enabling a sustainable delivery pace.
• Develop and coach team members through regular feedback, career growth discussions, performance management, hiring, and onboarding.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, BI and data warehousing.
• Strong people leadership, coaching and team development skills.
• Solid understanding of data engineering, data warehousing, BI, reporting and analytical modelling.
• Ability to promote technical excellence, engineering standards and operational reliability.
• Experience contributing to technology roadmap and architecture discussions.
• Strong Agile/Scrum facilitation and continuous improvement skills.
