Engineering Manager / Team Lead (.NET)

About the role

We are looking for an Engineering Manager / Team Lead to head a team that builds and maintains a large‑scale Point of Sale (POS) platform for pharmacies across the Baltics. You will drive delivery, technical excellence, and continuous modernization of a mission‑critical ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team delivering new features and improvements while ensuring system stability.
• Own and drive the technical roadmap, including refactoring, performance optimisation, tech‑debt reduction and modernization initiatives.
• Establish and uphold engineering practices such as architecture principles, code reviews, testing strategy and maintainability standards.
• Grow the team through mentoring, pair programming and structured knowledge sharing.
• Conduct regular 1‑on‑1s, support engineers’ growth and performance.
• Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to translate needs into executable plans, manage expectations and communicate trade‑offs.
• Improve delivery flow and operational readiness, covering release discipline, incident follow‑up and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in engineering management or team‑lead roles.
• Strong experience with C# .NET / .NET Core, or expertise in another language (Java, Python, Go, PHP) and willingness to work with .NET.
• Hands‑on experience with SOAP and REST integrations and building integration‑heavy systems.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and T‑SQL, including troubleshooting and performance considerations.
• Experience with unit testing and test‑automation, and the ability to raise quality standards.
• Strong communication skills, collaborative mindset and ownership of outcomes.
