Engineering Manager – Threat Intelligence

About the role

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Threat Intelligence teams at NordVPN. You will shape the vision, build high‑ownership groups and ensure their work aligns with the company’s privacy and security mission.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and grow multiple Threat Intelligence teams, defining clear ownership boundaries.
• Connect each team’s roadmap to the broader company vision and ensure cross‑departmental alignment.
• Champion the adoption of AI tools to improve engineering and research efficiency.
• Establish strong operational discipline, including proactive monitoring, on‑call practices and incident ownership.
• Own delivery and production stability, holding teams accountable for missed commitments or production issues.
• Create a motivating environment where engineers understand the “why” behind priorities and feel ownership over outcomes.

Required profile

• 3+ years of engineering management experience, including managing managers or multiple teams.
• Proven track record of building high‑ownership, high‑accountability teams that reliably deliver.
• Experience designing clear ownership models (RACI/DACI) across several teams.
• Ability to translate company‑level strategy into team‑level priorities and keep teams aligned.
• Experience driving process improvements, operational rigor and production‑ownership practices.
• Practical experience introducing or scaling AI tools within engineering or research workflows.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of software engineering and data‑driven systems.
