Engineering Manager – Threat Intelligence

About the role

NordVPN is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead its Threat Intelligence teams. You will shape the direction of security research and product protection while helping millions safeguard their online privacy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and grow multiple Threat Intelligence teams, ensuring clear ownership and accountability.
• Define and align team roadmaps with the company’s vision and broader product strategy.
• Drive cross‑department collaboration so that Threat Intelligence integrates smoothly with other product areas.
• Champion the adoption of AI tools to improve engineering and research efficiency.
• Establish strong operational discipline, including proactive monitoring, on‑call practices, and incident ownership.
• Be accountable for delivery and production stability, stepping in when commitments are missed or issues arise.
• Create a motivating environment where teams understand the “why” behind priorities and feel ownership over outcomes.

Required profile

• 3+ years of engineering management experience, including managing managers or multiple teams.
• Proven track record of building high‑ownership, high‑accountability teams that reliably deliver.
• Experience designing clear ownership models (e.g., RACI/DACI) across several teams.
• Ability to translate company‑level strategy into team‑level priorities and keep teams aligned.
• Background in process improvement, operational rigor, and production ownership practices.
• Practical experience introducing or scaling AI tools within engineering or research workflows.
• Solid understanding of software engineering and data‑driven systems (deep CS expertise not required).
