Head of Data

About the role

As Head of Data you’ll shape how data is managed, activated, and trusted across the company while unlocking smarter automation through AI where it creates real value. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and analysts to turn data into high‑impact decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of 11 data professionals across engineering, science, and analytics, with a mix of direct and indirect leadership.
• Set the direction for how data is managed across the company, ensuring it is reliable, scalable, and useful for decision‑making.
• Own the data roadmap across infrastructure, analytics, and data science, aligning priorities with business needs and growth goals.
• Partner closely with marketing and other data‑heavy stakeholders to ensure the team solves the right problems and delivers real impact.
• Strengthen the company’s data foundations so teams can make faster, better, and more confident data‑driven decisions.
• Guide technical decisions around data architecture, tooling, workflows, and platform development.
• Drive high standards across data quality, delivery, and team execution while keeping the team practical and focused.
• Act as a key partner to senior leadership, translating business goals into a clear, commercially relevant data strategy.
• Lead cross‑functional data‑related AI initiatives with a company‑wide mindset.
• Identify and push forward opportunities where AI and automation can improve internal workflows, efficiency, and decision‑making.

Required profile

• Strong leadership experience managing data teams that include engineers, scientists, and analysts.
• Background in data engineering or data science with enough technical depth to guide architecture and delivery decisions.
• Experience working with large‑scale data environments and supporting business‑critical, data‑driven decision‑making.
• Strong understanding of analytics, data platforms, and modern data tooling such as Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, Python, or AWS.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and drive adoption of data or AI solutions beyond the data team.
• Experience building trust with demanding stakeholders and translating business needs into clear data priorities.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with execution, and structure with speed.
• Good judgment on where process helps and where it slows things down.
• Strong interest in AI and automation with a practical view on improving workflows, decisions, and performance.
• Strong communication skills to make complex data topics clear and actionable for non‑technical stakeholders.
