Head of Manufacturing Engineering & Maintenance

About the role

The Head of Manufacturing Engineering & Maintenance leads the reliability, availability and technical performance of BURGA’s manufacturing equipment park. This senior role focuses on building preventive and predictive maintenance practices, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of root‑cause problem solving.

Key responsibilities

• Own equipment reliability, availability and performance, ensuring effective preventive maintenance, spare‑parts management and continuous improvement.
• Lead technical troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis to eliminate recurring failures.
• Implement and enhance maintenance systems, including CMMS, preventive/predictive maintenance, equipment history tracking and reliability KPIs such as OEE, MTBF and MTTR.
• Drive Lean initiatives (5S, Kaizen, SMED, Standard Work, visual management) and measure results.
• Identify bottlenecks across the value stream and lead projects that improve equipment performance, efficiency and manufacturing stability.
• Develop and coach the technical team (CI Engineering and Maintenance Technicians) through competency matrices, training and standards.
• Own OPEX and CAPEX budgets for maintenance and technical projects, ensuring resource allocation and measurable impact.
• Lead CAPEX and engineering projects from concept through execution.
