Implementation Engineer - Digital Twins

About the role

Neara builds engineering-grade, physics-enabled digital twins of electricity grids using machine learning, helping utilities understand risks and optimise investments. As an Implementation Engineer you will turn raw utility and geospatial data into accurate digital twin models of electricity networks, working with GIS, LiDAR and asset data, configuring models with the company's schema language and joining the Deployment Team that delivers the Neara platform to utility customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the end-to-end deployment of the Neara platform for utility customers worldwide.
• Ingest and manipulate large datasets (LiDAR, GIS and asset databases) using the schema language and configuration framework.
• Perform rigorous QA/QC so the digital twin accurately reflects real-world physics and customer specifications.
• Build custom reports and dashboards to give utility engineers actionable insights.
• Work with Product and Engineering to give feedback on process and tool improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer, Implementation Engineer, Integration Engineer, Software Engineer or similar.
• Background in engineering, mathematics, software engineering, computer science or a related field preferred.
• Fluent English and excellent written communication, including contributions to internal knowledge bases and external user manuals.
• Ability to explain technical configurations clearly to diverse audiences.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one major language such as SQL or Python, and the ability to learn new languages quickly.
• Comfortable learning a new schema language to manipulate data and build reports.
• Familiarity with GIS, CAD geoprocessing or LiDAR data is beneficial.
