Mid-level DevOps Engineer – Threat Protection

About the role

Join the team behind NordVPN Threat Protection and help build the infrastructure that powers the world’s most advanced VPN and security tools. You will work on automating, scaling, and securing a multi‑tenant environment that protects millions of users from online threats.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Threat Protection development team to design and automate infrastructure.
• Write and maintain scripts for CI/CD pipelines using Docker, GitLab CI and AWS services.
• Develop frameworks for automated unit, integration and end‑to‑end tests and provision virtual test environments.
• Design, deploy and manage infrastructure for a distributed, multi‑tenant system.
• Assist with migration of services to cloud platforms (S3, EC2, EMR, Kubernetes/EKS).
• Ensure best‑practice implementation for security, availability and observability.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a DevOps, System or Infrastructure Engineer.
• Strong Linux expertise; Windows administration knowledge is a plus.
• Solid understanding of Git workflows and version control.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, Bash or Python.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD concepts and build tools (Make, CMake, Conan, Ninja).
• Knowledge of software composition, virtualization and containerization.
• Experience with cloud IaC tools (Ansible, Terraform) and container orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS).
• Ownership mindset, critical thinking and attention to detail.
