Payments Controller

About the role

We are seeking a Payments Controller to join our Africa Regional Finance team. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of accounting balances in our portfolio management system by leading daily payment reconciliations and connecting transactions to reliable financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily payment reconciliation, verifying all incoming and outgoing transactions.
• Support continuous improvement of reconciliation processes and simplify workflows.
• Collaborate with IT to fix system bugs and implement new features.
• Monitor bank statement integrations with our in‑house ERP and resolve data errors.
• Assist the accounting team with monthly reporting and financial analysis.
• Investigate discrepancies, system mismatches, and manual errors to maintain financial accuracy.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in accounting, controlling, or finance operations.
• Strong attention to detail, proactive mindset, and ability to work in a multicultural regional environment.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• SQL or other data‑analysis tools (a plus).
