PHP Developer – Build Scalable E‑commerce Systems

About the role

Bold.One is looking for an experienced PHP Developer to design and maintain high‑load, scalable e‑commerce systems. You will shape backend architecture, lead complex feature development and mentor fellow engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Drive backend architecture decisions and define technical direction.
• Design, develop and optimise high‑load, scalable systems.
• Lead feature development from concept through production.
• Improve performance, reliability and observability (monitoring, logging, alerting).
• Mentor engineers and promote best engineering practices.
• Contribute technical insight to product decisions.
• Identify and resolve deep technical challenges.
• Ensure security, scalability and maintainability across all systems.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience building highly available, high‑load systems.
• Strong autonomy, solution‑oriented mindset and proactive attitude.
• Experience in e‑commerce environments (payments, A/B testing, conversion tracking).
• Ability to write testable code and apply software testing patterns.

Required skills

• PHP (Laravel preferred, Symfony valued)
• WordPress
• MySQL
• Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or similar)
• CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices
• Basic knowledge of React or similar front‑end framework
• E‑commerce system knowledge
• Software testing and secure web application architecture
• NoSQL databases (nice to have)
• Event‑driven architecture, distributed systems and real‑time messaging (nice to have)
