Senior CloudOps Engineer – Databases

About the role

As a Senior CloudOps Engineer focused on databases at Wrike, you will own the PostgreSQL stack, support both cloud and on‑prem infrastructure, and ensure the product meets a 99.9% uptime SLA. You will work in an international team on high‑impact technical projects and help define work based on team OKRs.

Key responsibilities

• Be the primary owner and main contributor to the PostgreSQL stack.
• Maintain, upgrade, and optimize the internal database infrastructure.
• Manage Wrike product infrastructure across GCP, AWS, and Cloudflare using Infrastructure‑as‑Code.
• Implement reliable solutions to achieve a 99.9% product uptime SLA.
• Introduce and support new infrastructure services and automation.
• Participate in incident response, on‑call duties, and post‑mortem analysis.
• Collaborate with architects, tech leads, and international teammates on internal DB management system development.

Required profile

• Deep understanding of PostgreSQL architecture, MVCC, sharding, WAL, and VACUUM processes.
• Strong proficiency in writing and troubleshooting complex SQL queries.
• Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes, ArgoCD, and service‑oriented architectures.
• Familiarity with load‑balancing technologies (Nginx, HAproxy, Istio).
• Proficiency in IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet) and automation with Python.
• Experience with monitoring (Prometheus/VictoriaMetrics, Zabbix) and logging (Graylog, Logstash, Fluentd).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Gitlab‑CI.
• Upper‑intermediate English communication skills.
