Senior Site Reliability Engineer, ML Platform

About the role

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer you will own the reliability, scalability and observability of Vinted’s Machine Learning Platform services across on‑premises and cloud environments. You will work with a product‑mindset to deliver self‑service capabilities for the Feature Store, embedding extraction pipelines and dataset tooling, enabling data‑science teams to move fast.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the reliability and performance of the Vinted Feature Store, meeting latency SLOs at 400k+ feature‑read RPS.
• Evaluate, benchmark and prototype next‑generation distributed storage technologies as potential replacements for Vespa.
• Build and automate self‑service embedding extraction pipelines, abstracting compute and serving complexity for internal users.
• Scale and operate the Dataset & Drift Platform, providing dataset discovery, versioning and drift monitoring.
• Lead reliability work for ML Platform services, including SLO definition, alerting, runbooks, post‑mortems and toil reduction.
• Implement automated data‑governance to ensure GDPR‑compliant feature and dataset lifecycles.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of Linux operating systems and distributed systems architecture.
• Experience building and running internal platforms or high‑throughput, low‑latency data systems (e.g., NoSQL, key‑value stores, Kafka).
• Proven track record with core SRE practices such as SLOs, observability and incident management.
• Excellent written and spoken English with strong cross‑team communication skills.
