Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Kimchi Studio is building a collaborative desktop app that brings autonomous coding agents, model orchestration and the full toolchain into one UI. As a Senior Software Engineer you will own features end‑to‑end, from design through implementation, testing and production rollout, working on fast‑moving projects that typically ship in 1‑4 weeks.

Key responsibilities

• Own feature development end‑to‑end, from design through implementation, testing and production rollout.
• Collaborate directly with product and engineering teams to solve non‑textbook problems, delivering projects typically within 1‑4 weeks.
• Maintain and improve performance of the desktop application, using profiling tools to identify bottlenecks.

Required profile

• Proven track record of driving a complex product feature from idea to shipped, with concrete evidence.
• Full‑stack expertise: strong in TypeScript (Electron/React UI, Node services) and Go for backend, with honesty about depth in each.
• Deep debugging and performance instincts, able to use query profiling and flame graphs to resolve jank or slow queries.
• Strong focus on UX, speed and polish in a desktop application where every millisecond is visible.
