Senior Software Engineer – Meta AI

About the role

KAYAK, part of Booking Holdings, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build and maintain AI‑driven features for its travel‑search platform. The role is based in Kaunas with a hybrid schedule (three days onsite per week) and requires strong Java expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain production software for travel‑search and trip‑planning experiences.
• Build and evolve APIs and services that power AI‑assisted search, conversational planning, and itinerary generation.
• Investigate technical problems, assess trade‑offs and deliver reliable, high‑performance solutions.
• Write automated tests and contribute to unit, integration and end‑to‑end quality.
• Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback and mentor teammates.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and maintaining production software, preferably in Java.
• Ability to explain technical decisions clearly in writing and conversation.
• Ownership mindset with willingness to ask for input when needed.
• Good communication skills in English.
