Accountant (Temporary Parental Leave Substitute)

About the role

Algol Chemicals Lithuania is seeking an Accountant to join the finance team on a temporary parental‑leave substitute basis. The role will oversee accounting activities, support cash management, tax compliance and payroll for the Lithuanian operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records in line with Lithuanian accounting standards and Algol Group requirements.
• Manage bank accounts, process payments, import/export statements and perform bank reconciliations.
• Handle accounts receivable, accounts payable, balance‑sheet and P&L reporting, and intercompany reconciliations.
• Prepare and submit tax returns, including VAT calculations, and process payroll with taxes and social contributions.
• Prepare documentation for external audits and ensure internal controls safeguard company assets.

Required profile

• Relevant education in accounting or finance.
• Some experience in a similar accounting role.
• Fluency in Lithuanian and English.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to IT tools used by the finance team.
