Chief Accountant – FinTech Payments Platform

About the role

As our Chief Accountant, you will own the accuracy and integrity of VIALET's books and make accounting smarter. You will oversee high‑volume transactions across multiple clients, currencies and banking partners, focusing on analysis and control rather than manual data entry.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, ensuring every transaction is recorded accurately and timely.
• Manage day‑to‑day accounting tasks such as invoices, bank transactions, travel expenses and payroll coordination.
• Prepare financial statements under local GAAP and support regulatory submissions to the Bank of Lithuania.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end closing processes with clear checklists and deadlines.
• Act as the main contact for internal and external audits, preparing audit files and following up on recommendations.
• Maintain the chart of accounts, accounting policies and internal controls over financial reporting.
• Drive automation and AI adoption across accounting, mapping processes and eliminating manual steps.
• Partner with Product, IT and other teams to integrate the payments platform with the ERP and ensure reliable accounting data.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of senior accounting experience, preferably in a highly regulated environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics; professional certifications (e.g., ACCA) are a plus.
• Strong knowledge of local GAAP, IFRS and Lithuanian tax and labor regulations.
• Hands‑on experience with payroll, VAT, corporate tax and statutory reporting.
• Fluent in English and Lithuanian; additional languages are advantageous.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Excel / Google Sheets (pivot tables, lookups).
• ERP implementation and accounting software integration (APIs, data mapping).
• Automation and AI tools for accounting processes.
