Controls Lead Engineer

About the role

Dematic is seeking a senior Controls Lead Engineer to own the Controls Engineering scope across complex customer projects in EMEA. You will lead technical execution, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and act as the primary technical authority throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the Controls Engineering execution strategy, resource planning and project milestones.
• Lead and coordinate Controls Engineering deliverables such as Functional Design Specifications, Bills of Materials and commissioning programmes.
• Manage technical risks, quality gates, safety validation and interface coordination with Mechanical, Structures and Installation teams.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and decision‑making support to Controls Engineers and Lead Engineers.
• Maintain status reporting, financial forecasts and ensure accurate hand‑over of documentation to customers.

Required profile

• Degree in an engineering discipline with 8+ years of industrial automation experience.
• Proven experience leading Controls Engineering on large‑scale automation projects, preferably with Amazon.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to represent the company as a technical authority.
• Full working proficiency in English.

Required skills

• Material Control Systems (MCS) expertise.
• Project management tools such as MS Project and JIRA.
• Knowledge of ISO standards and Machinery Directive relevant to automated warehouses.
