Controls Lead Engineer

About the role

Dematic is seeking a senior Controls Lead Engineer to own the Controls Engineering scope across complex customer projects in EMEA. You will lead technical execution, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and act as the primary technical authority throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the Controls Engineering execution strategy, resource planning and project milestones.
• Lead the creation and delivery of functional design specifications, bills of materials, procurement plans and commissioning documentation.
• Coordinate interfaces with Mechanical, Structures and Installation engineering to ensure alignment with customer requirements.
• Maintain status reporting, risk registers, financial forecasts and cost control throughout the project.
• Conduct on‑site safety audits and ensure compliance with safety and quality gates.

Required profile

• Degree in an engineering discipline with 8+ years of industrial automation experience.
• Proven experience leading Controls Engineering teams on large‑scale automation projects, preferably for Amazon.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to represent Dematic as a technical authority.
• Full professional proficiency in English.

Required skills

• Controls Engineering expertise, including Material Control Systems (MCS).
• Knowledge of Amazon Controls standards and design expectations.
• Understanding of ISO standards and the Machinery Directive.
• Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project and JIRA.
