Data Platform Engineering Team Leader

About the role

Euromonitor is seeking a Data Platform Engineering Team Leader to head a group of Data Platform Engineers. The role combines hands‑on technical work with people management, driving the design, implementation and optimisation of data pipelines and platforms across Azure services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and grow a team of engineers using Agile methodologies, setting objectives and conducting interviews.
• Design and implement data‑centric solutions that meet cost, performance, security and resilience requirements.
• Collaborate with technology teams, data analysts, scientists and researchers to ensure consistent data delivery architecture.
• Monitor, support and respond to critical incidents, including occasional out‑of‑hours interventions.

Required profile

• Strong leadership and communication skills, able to coordinate cross‑functional teams and resolve conflicts.
• Self‑motivated, adaptable and organised, with a passion for continuous learning and Agile practices.
• Experience in product management, performance testing and documentation within a data engineering context.

Required skills

• Advanced SQL (T‑SQL) programming.
• Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse.
• Working with Azure Data Services, RDBMS, NoSQL, JSON, XML.
• CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) and infrastructure‑as‑code (ARM Templates, Bicep, PowerShell, Bash).
• Microsoft Azure Fundamentals and Data Engineer Associate certifications.
• Business Intelligence tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, MS Fabric.
