DevOps Engineer – Mid‑Senior (Remote)

About the role

Join NordLayer’s SRE team to design, build, and operate hybrid infrastructure that powers a global cybersecurity platform. You will work on both on‑prem bare‑metal servers and AWS cloud services, ensuring reliable, secure network connectivity for thousands of customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain hybrid infrastructure spanning on‑prem bare‑metal fleet and AWS cloud.
• Develop and evolve Infrastructure‑as‑Code using Terraform, Terragrunt, and configuration management tools such as Puppet or Ansible.
• Maintain and improve the platform’s network stack, including routing, load balancing, tunneling, and security features.
• Build and support CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI) for infrastructure and platform delivery.
• Participate in incident response, post‑mortems, and reliability improvements.
• Explore AI tools to automate operational tasks and enhance incident response.

Required profile

• 3+ years of hands‑on Linux systems or infrastructure experience.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (IPv4, routing, bridging, proxies, DNS).
• Production experience with AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, ECS).
• Proficiency with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI preferred).
• Comfortable scripting in Bash and Python for automation.
• Enthusiasm for applying AI tools to infrastructure work.
