About the role

The Physical and Technology Sciences Center (FTMC) seeks a dynamic leader to head its Doctoral School. You will steer the school’s strategic direction, foster academic excellence, and enhance its national and international reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize and coordinate all Doctoral School activities, setting goals and ensuring their achievement.
• Develop and implement the school’s policy, annual work plan and budget allocation.
• Design and deliver training programmes to boost doctoral candidates’ scientific, social and professional competencies.
• Strengthen the overall capabilities of doctoral students and maintain continuous feedback loops.
• Expand international collaborations with foreign research centres, doctoral organisations and other institutions.
• Partner with the Communications and Marketing department to promote doctoral topics, attract candidates and represent the school at career events.
• Organise the International Doctoral Summer School, supervisor workshops and other events for the doctoral community.
• Prepare regular reports on doctoral activities for FTMC governance and external bodies.
• Oversee the appropriate use of funds allocated to the Doctoral School.

Required profile

• University degree, preferably in natural or technological sciences, with a PhD.
• At least three years of leadership experience, ideally managing a doctoral school or a student‑supervision unit, or three years in doctoral programme administration.
• Fluent Lithuanian and English (minimum C1 level).
• Proven leadership and management abilities.
• Strategic, analytical thinking and a proactive attitude.
