Field Service Engineer (Utility BESS)

About the role

Trina is looking for a Field Service Engineer to support the installation and commissioning of its utility‑scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across Eastern Europe. You will work on‑site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Execute on‑site installations and commissioning of BESS projects.
• Support overall project execution and supervise site activities.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company policies.
• Coordinate smooth delivery of equipment to the site.
• Report progress to engineering and project management teams.
• Assist in resolving quality issues and completing punch‑list items.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of Trina’s service and maintenance framework.

Required profile

• Engineering or electrical degree or equivalent qualifications.
• Experience in commissioning or maintenance of electrical equipment for Solar PV and/or BESS projects.
• Proven ability to follow safety regulations in an operational environment.
• Strong hands‑on site experience and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with electrical standards, regulations and legislation.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with contractors, suppliers and client representatives.
• Fluent English; additional languages are a plus.
• Willingness to travel extensively to support the energy storage fleet.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Experience with SCADA systems (preferred).
• Knowledge of MODBUS communication protocol (preferred).
