General Ledger Accountant

About the role

Metso is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to join its Finance team in Vilnius. You will ensure accurate processing of transactions, support period‑close activities, and contribute to compliance and reporting initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Process and monitor miscellaneous transactions, ensuring proper documentation.
• Verify and reconcile assigned balance‑sheet accounts.
• Participate in period‑close procedures and legal compliance processes (VAT, corporate tax, audits, statistical reporting).
• Perform internal controls and asset accounting, including depreciation calculations.
• Review deliverables prepared by junior team members and respond to queries promptly.
• Support improvement projects, change implementation, and knowledge‑base documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Higher education in Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Strong process understanding and a customer‑service mindset.
• Solution‑oriented problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective teamwork in a cross‑cultural environment.
• Advanced written and oral English proficiency.

Required skills

• SAP (or similar accounting software) experience.
