Head of Accounting

About the role

BUNASTA Group is looking for an experienced Head of Accounting to take ownership of the Group's accounting function, its quality, efficiency and further development. This is not simply an operational accounting supervision role. We need a leader who can coordinate accounting teams across different countries, establish common standards, strengthen controls and continuously improve accounting processes across the Group.

Key responsibilities

• Unite accounting teams across multiple countries around common ways of working while preserving necessary local flexibility.
• Ensure accurate, clear and timely month‑end and year‑end closing, financial data and reporting.
• Oversee core accounting processes – AP, AR, payroll and intercompany accounting – across all entities.
• Coordinate financial reporting, tax compliance and audit processes with local teams and specialists.
• Strengthen internal controls and develop practical accounting principles for consistency.
• Identify and implement simplifications, standardisation, centralisation or automation that add real value.
• Develop the accounting team, share best practices and align professionals toward a common direction.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading accounting teams, fostering ownership and alignment.
• Background in a multi‑entity or international environment, balancing common standards with local practices.
• Strong knowledge of month‑end/year‑end closing, financial reporting, audit and core accounting processes.
• Demonstrated ability to improve processes through standardisation, centralisation or automation.
• Proactive problem‑solver who challenges the status‑quo and drives actionable solutions.
• Comfortable making independent decisions in an international setting, fluent in English and either Polish or Russian.
