Head of Shipbuilding Technologists & Estimators Department

About the role

AVS PipeFit is looking for a technologically strong and commercially minded leader to manage both production processes and project cost estimation in the shipbuilding sector, where project volumes are growing. The role covers technological preparation of shipbuilding projects (piping, metal structures) and project cost estimation.

Key responsibilities

• Technological preparation and analysis of shipbuilding projects (piping, metal structures)
• Preparation and control of project estimates (materials, labour, resources)
• Preparation of commercial offers and coordination with clients and customers
• Analysis of technical documentation (drawings, specifications) and adaptation for production and installation
• Monitoring of project progress, costs and deadlines
• Collaboration with production, procurement and quality teams
• Control and evaluation of supplier offers
• Participation in process optimisation and efficiency improvement initiatives

Required profile

• Higher education degree in engineering
• Experience in shipbuilding, piping and/or metal structure projects
• Experience in project cost estimation (preferably in shipbuilding)
• Ability to make decisions, plan and manage several projects at once, with strong analytical thinking and a commercial mindset
• Strong English; Russian is an advantage

Required skills

• Reading technical drawings and specifications
• Familiarity with EN, ISO and ASME standards
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office
