Java Software Engineer

About the role

Wallee Group is expanding its engineering team in Vilnius to deliver market‑leading payment experiences. As a Java Software Engineer you will work on secure, high‑reliability fintech systems, collaborating with product, design and QA teams in an Agile environment.

Key responsibilities

• Architect scalability: design and develop resilient back‑end services using Java to support global traffic.
• Feature innovation: own the full lifecycle of new features, from implementation to bug fixing and performance tuning.
• Collaborative engineering: partner with product managers, UX designers and QA to translate complex business needs into technical solutions.
• Code excellence: ensure quality through automated testing, thorough code reviews and clear documentation.
• Stay ahead: research emerging technologies and methodologies to keep Wallee at the fintech forefront.

Required profile

• Technical depth in Java and frameworks such as Spring Boot or Hibernate.
• Experience building distributed, high‑availability systems.
• Strong SQL skills and solid data modeling capabilities.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI) and containerisation (Docker, AWS ECS).
• Proven ability to thrive in fast‑paced Agile teams, with a degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
