About the role

The university is looking for a Communication Specialist to develop and execute internal and external communication strategies, produce content, and maintain media relations that support the institution’s mission and activities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare communication plans for university initiatives and departmental activities.
• Write press releases, articles, news items, and other content for internal and external audiences.
• Manage communication channels such as the intranet, newsletters, website news sections, and social media, ensuring timely updates.
• Establish and maintain relationships with media representatives and act as a liaison between journalists and university units.
• Participate in events, conduct interviews, and produce reports for university communication platforms.
• Support the planning and execution of public‑relations campaigns, projects and events.
• Analyse communication practices of other higher‑education institutions and propose improvements.
• Collaborate on the creation of advertising, informational and visual communication materials.

Required profile

• University degree (Bachelor’s) preferably in Business Administration, Public Management, Social Sciences or a related communication field.
• Relevant work experience in public relations, communications or journalism.
• Fluent Lithuanian and at least one EU official language (minimum B2 level, English preferred).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to edit and proofread texts.
• Understanding of occupational safety, fire safety, environmental and civil protection regulations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the MS Office suite.
• Basic photography skills for content creation.
