Mechanical Design Project Engineer

About the role

Dematic is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Project Engineer to develop and deliver conveyor technology for container and light unit‑load applications in Lithuania. The role involves creating detailed mechanical layouts, ensuring safety compliance, and supporting installation teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop project‑specific approval layouts based on customer and sales input.
• Translate complex project scopes into detailed system concepts and mechanical layouts.
• Review material flow, define special designs and ergonomic workspaces.
• Conduct mechanical safety assessments and define required safeguards.
• Collaborate with CE compliance teams on risk assessments and site safety inspections.
• Design escape, transport and maintenance access routes.
• Coordinate with structural, installation and controls teams for seamless integration.
• Provide technical expertise during customer meetings and engineering reviews.
• Produce detailed mechanical specifications, installation drawings and BOMs.
• Prepare SAP requisitions and controls engineering data lists.
• Offer remote and on‑site engineering support during installation and ensure thorough handovers.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical design of conveyor or material‑handling systems.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with structural, controls and compliance teams.
• Strong analytical skills for safety and risk assessments.
