Mid‑Senior Design Engineer – Design System (React, Figma)

About the role

Saily is looking for a Design Engineer to shape Aurora, its design system, across both design and code. You will build reusable UI components, craft polished interactions, and create tooling that speeds up design‑development workflows while ensuring accessibility and consistency.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and evolve Aurora component kits (ReactKit, AstroKit, AppKit) while keeping contracts consistent.
• Contribute to visual and interaction language in Figma and code, moving between the two in the same session.
• Build internal design tooling such as Figma plugins, CLI utilities, CI checks, and prototyping tools.
• Champion best practices, drive adoption of Storybook, testing strategies, and design automation.

Required profile

• Proven experience building, maintaining, and scaling design systems.
• Strong product design fundamentals and ability to make independent design decisions.
• Excellent collaboration skills across design, engineering, and product teams.

Required skills

• React, Astro, JavaScript
• Modern CSS (including TailwindCSS) and semantic HTML
• Figma (variables, component architecture, plugin API)
• Storybook.js for component development and documentation
• Accessibility standards (WCAG AA)
