Mid/Senior PHP Developer – Laravel & Kafka Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a proactive, analytical Mid/Senior PHP Developer to join a cross‑location team based in Kaunas and Spain, collaborating closely with our client team in the Netherlands. You will help build and enhance in‑house trading systems that are used daily by trading, risk, and mid‑office teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Laravel‑based applications for environmental commodities trading.
• Integrate messaging pipelines using Kafka and Avro schemas, ensuring reliable data flow.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills, team‑player attitude and willingness to share knowledge.
• Proactive, ambitious mindset with a focus on delivering high‑quality software.

Required skills

• Laravel 8/9/10/11 and PHP 8.3+.
• SQL expertise with MySQL, PostgreSQL (and familiarity with MSSQL).
• Git version control and GitHub PR workflow.
• Kafka producers/consumers, Avro schemas and Schema Registry.
• CI/CD tools: PHPStan, PHPCS, PHPUnit, ESLint.
• Docker, unit & integration testing, Test‑Driven Development.
• Experience with AI coding assistants (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot).
• Basic knowledge of Kubernetes and AWS services (ECR, S3).
• Familiarity with Redis caching and logging interfaces.
