About the role

Support the Canadian AML Officer and MLRO in meeting AML/ATF regulatory obligations, providing second‑line oversight of the firm’s financial‑crime framework.

Key responsibilities

• Provide independent review and challenge of high‑risk cases, acting as an escalation point for Financial Crime Operations.
• Exercise delegated authority to approve or reject complex, high‑risk cases and ensure decisions are risk‑based and well documented.
• Support compliance with FINTRAC requirements, including PCMLTFA and Ministerial Directives.
• Conduct analysis and compile management information for thematic reviews, audits, regulatory examinations and law‑enforcement enquiries.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of a robust financial‑crime governance framework and prepare reporting for senior management.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in Compliance, AML/ATF, Financial Crime or Risk Management.
• Working knowledge of Canadian AML/ATF regulations, FINTRAC requirements and related ministerial directives.
• Strong risk‑assessment skills with ability to make balanced, documented decisions in complex scenarios.
• Experience reviewing and approving cases involving higher‑risk customers, PEPs, sanctions, high‑risk jurisdictions and crypto‑related typologies.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
